New Service Coming To JCAM.
After careful consideration we will be replacing Metro Express with a brand new service called Jason County Transit what does that mean? Buses in the Jason County area will be getting a new look however these buses will still be operated by Jason City Area Metro but will have a different livery. This will help provide connection to JCAM local and brt routes no Jason County Transit isn't a separate agency it's the name of the brand and service provided outside of Jason City limits in the county. Reason why we chose to make this decision mainly because most of our express routes run in the county area. I know this may sound shocking to everyone but we can guarantee with this in place for the county planning new routes in the county will be so much easier. The current depot will share space with the county buses just like we're doing now with the soon to be former Metro Express. Our current express routes will be operated by this new service numbering will change to J21-J28 on these routes. We do plan on adding what are called "J" Routes what might you ask what a J Route is it's basically a local or express route for Jason County. This is an example of how J Routes are numbered "J1". J Routes will be double digits just like JCAM routes our current express routes will be getting this change to the numbering. J1-J8 will be the numbering system used for all local routes in Jason County some routes might end up serving areas in Jason City limits that JCAM would serve but that's okay because it'll help provide connection and availability for both services for residents and visitors of the city and the county. Once all this comes together I promise it'll be worth it. Here's a sneak peek of the stop sign designs for the county inspired by Madison County Transit. Also the 26 Airport Connector will now be renumbered to J1 and will be operated by JCT buses. Since 14 is a JCAM local route into the county this route will not be seeing any changes done to the name or the numbering only JCT routes will be getting the J numbering except for county rapid routes. Rapid routes in the county will be numbered as R24 through R31 these routes will have actual names for them and will not use colors for the different lines that JCAM uses. Also the vehicle numbering for JCT buses will be three digits instead of 4.
R-Line Coming To JCAM
We are excited to announce that the R-Line rapid bus service will be expanding into Jason City with only 2 lines running. The R27 will be the first R-Line route to run outside of the Jason County area of the map. Currently R24, R25, & R26 will remain on the Jason County side of the map while R27 and R28 will operate in the Jason City area outside of the county area of the map. We will be saying goodbye to the 23x Purple Line as this route will be getting replaced by the R27. The R-Line will be the official rapid service between JCAM and JCT. These routes will operate like the old Metro BRT routes with 3 minute layover times only stopping at dedicated R-Line platforms only. Buses on this service will be all electric.
